Molybdenum Disulfide on Graphene

Chemical vapor deposited (CVD) molybdenum disulfide on epitaxial graphene grown from silicon carbide single crystal. The terraces shown are attributed to the miscut of the silicon carbide wafer, while the triangles are the molybdenum disulfide sheets. When overgrown, the moly-disulfide will precipitate a new nucleus on a previously grown triangle thereby forming multilayered pyramids. Imaged on a Cypher S AFM. Scan size 2 µm.
