Asylum Research, an Oxford Instruments Company, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Accounting Assistant to provide reliable expertise and support for our local finance department. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be an essential part of a small but robust accounting team that manages finances for a global business unit.

The Role

  • Manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable function by reviewing, coding and processing invoices. Communicate with vendors on all queries and prepare weekly check runs.
    • Liaise with purchasing and production departments to resolve any invoice discrepancies.
    • Reconcile and post entries for all company credit card transactions in Concur.
    • Reconcile RNI report.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable function by preparing customer invoices and processing payments for credit card orders.
  • Assist finance management with reporting requirements on a regular basis.
  • Provide general accounting support including but not limited to reconciling general ledger accounts, processing journal entries, and providing supporting documentation for audits as required.

The Candidate

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting subject, or equivalent work experience
  • Detailed knowledge of accounts payable and receivable practices
  • A manufacturing background and ERP systems experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics and Financial Accounting System
  • Proficiency in accounting systems including Purchase Ledger and Excel
  • Experience with automated expense reporting systems (Concur)
  • An organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive professional relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues across multiple departments

The Role

  • Lead and manage the team in China which consists of technical sales, applications scientists, and field service engineers to support performance and achievement of regional targets.
  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships in order to deliver individual and regional sales targets.

MEMS Engineer - Santa Barbara, CA

Asylum Research, an Oxford Instruments Company, is seeking a skilled MEMS Engineer to design, manufacture, and test AFM probes. As part of our small but rapidly expanding probe business, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal and external colleagues on manufacturing AFM probes and samples using MEMS processes from the ground up.

The Role

  • Develop and manufacture standard AFM probes and test-samples in a cleanroom environment.
  • Test the fabricated probes and samples in an AFM system to evaluate their performance.
  • Collaborate with in-house technical experts to design and develop AFM probes for advanced applications.
  • Create travelers for fabrication processes as well as testing protocol and documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with internal colleagues on probe inventory to ensure accurate fabrication
    scheduling and timely fulfillment of all customer orders.
  • Work closely with vendors, foundries and customers in order to develop positive professional relationships
    and resolve any issues related to the probe business and production.

The Candidate

Successful candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/science field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Previous experience working effectively in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience working with AFM and knowledge of AFM technology, particularly AFM probes
  • Experience in MEMS fabrication and processing technologies (wet etching, RIE, DRIE, and lithography)

The Role

  • Develop and implement inventive, robust and reliable software components and systems for the Asylum AFM software platform.
    Discuss, identify and agree software needs with marketing and engineering teams.
    - Develop required algorithms and integrate them into the software platform.
    - Participate in software design reviews and provide ongoing support for existing products.
    - Produce and maintain documentation that supports colleagues in other departments and allows for

The Candidate

Successful candidates will have:

  • At least 5 years experience in development of high level software
