Industrial Postdoctoral Associate Positions in Scanning Probe Microscopy Asylum Research, an Oxford Instruments company, has two Postdoc positions immediately available for highly motivated and skilled experimentalists. Research includes applying Scanning Probe Microscopy to a variety of physical measurements problems including accurate nanomechanical characterization, energy production and storage, high resolution, fluid and biological imaging. Principal Responsibilities/Projects Ongoing projects will include SPM/AFM on samples used for a wide variety of topics including single atomic defect resolution, nanomechanics, nanoelectrical measurements, biology, and chemical measurements made on the nanometer level. The successful candidate will publish in peer-reviewed journals, work on projects for deployment to end-customers and participate in development of next-generation SPM technology. Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate should have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline with a demonstrated publication and public speaking record. Industrial experience is desirable. A research background in scanning probe microscopy or related application areas such as energy research, polymers, physics, chemistry, etc. is required. We have a highly collaborative workplace and are looking for creative, independent thinking candidates who are able to effectively work in an interdisciplinary setting.
